Morning Procedures: Students will walk into the room and place their backpacks, jackets, etc. in their cubbies, place their homework in the appropriate bins, then sit at their desk ready to do their morning work.
Restroom Procedures: When a student needs to use the restroom, they will raise up an "r" sign and wait for the teacher to sign back as to not disturb class. The student will use the restroom and wash their hands in a quick manner as to miss as little class as possible.
Pencil Sharpening Procedure: When students need to get a sharpened pencil, they will place their dull pencil in the "dull pencil" cup and grab a sharp pencil out of the "sharp pencil" cup. The pencil sharpener helper will sharpen all dull pencils during clean up.
Roll Call Procedures: The roll call helper will call each students' name at the beginning of the day after announcements. Students will respond by saying "here" and raising their hand when called.
Classroom Expectations
1. Be respectful to yourself and others. 2. Come to class prepared and ready to learn. 3. Always try your best. 4. Keep all body parts and belongings to yourself. 5. Wait your turn. 6. Be kind.
Hallway Procedures: Students must walk in a single file line using a low voice with their hands to themselves when walking in the hallway.
Classwork Procedures: Students will turn in all classwork assignments to the designated classwork bin when prompted.
Handout Procedures: Students will pick up all handouts at the end of the day from their designated cubby to take home.
Helper Procedures: Each week, students will be assigned with a new helper position; door holder, line leader, light switcher, calender helper, word wizard, etc. Students will help the teacher with their designated responsibility when prompted.
Cubby Procedures: At the beginning of the day, students will place their backpacks, jackets, etc. in their designated cubby. If a student needs to retrieve items from their cubby, they may go during transitions, independent work, stations, or break.
Dismissal Procedures: At the end of the day, students will gather their things to go. Students that ride the bus will leave the classroom first through the hallway. Students who walk or ride home will follow the teacher to the yard to wait on their parents or head home.
